I want to thank my good friend Aunt Debbie for nominating me for this award.
Visit her blog, she’s a potty mouth like me, she’s hilariously funny and serious all at the same time!
Rules:
If you want to share this award please follow the rules below.
Thank the nominator, and publish a post on your blog about receiving the Blogger Recognition Award. Make sure to provide a link to the nominator’s blog in your post.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Nominate
10-15 other bloggersfor this award, and inform them of their nomination.
My blog started in June of last year, 2018 at the urging of my wonderful therapist who said it would be a creative outlet for my emotional upheaval and writing. I never really thought I’d go a whole year with an actual blog. I didn’t think that anyone would be remotely interested in reading what I had to write. And yet here I am one year later, still blogging, making friends and finding encouragement from other blogs along the way.
My advice to new bloggers: Read other blogs, get the feel for what’s out there, follow those that interest you and always, always read posts from those you do follow and post some encouraging and creative comments. Also, write about yourself whether or not you’re sure others will like what you wrote, your blog will develop as you begin to write more and more.
I’m going to nominate two bloggers for this award, I don’t know too many other bloggers who already haven’t been nominated or received this award, so that makes this a bit harder for me.
My nominations are:
The Nowhere Tribune -A fellow Texan who’s adventures of armadillo tattoos, alcohol, rattlesnakes and Teacakes will make you laugh, wonder and above all think whether or not he’s writing from home or an asylum!
BecauseFoodIsWhatIDo – Krysta, head cook, chief bottlewasher, food lover and writer. She is also a fellow Texan who posts about food from around the region where she and her family resides, Fort Davis Texas. She’s a home cook who experiments with recipes and ingredients and she makes them all look so easy and delish! Visit her blog and I promise, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Ha! Thank you. I love the description. And I’m glad to find Krysta’s blog–I love food and I love Fort Davis.
It took me over a month to answer the last blog award nomination. Maybe I’ll do better this time.

So do I, so can you imagine? I mean I tone it down a lot too at work, at the grocery store, at church….okay that’s a lie, lol
I don’t go to church! Hahaha!

Yep, only a year ago. And thank you, I don’t feel like a natural, lol. I’m not like River who has her posts loaded to go weeks in advance! When I grow up I want to be just like you, 👍😎😉🤔😆

I think so, just like River, I’ve begun to through my follower list and see who hasn’t comment at all and cutting lose some. It just makes sense, if you follow, one would think your semi-interested in our blogs you’d think your actually read our posts. It’s also made me more cognizant as a follower as well.

Who is River?
It’s true you need to be a good follower and good blogger to get the balance right, it’s not easy.

Very cool Huntress! Very Cool! Congratulations! Well-deserved! I had no idea that you’ve only been blogging for a year! Wow! I’ve only just recently discovered you and now I’m going to have to go back through some of your older posts. Do you have any that you specifically like and would recommend? BTW, it looks like you and I are both Texans. Mona

Oh wow, what part of Texas do you reside in Mona? As far as me recommending older posts of mine, I suppose you’d have to start from the very first Prince Charming is Dead post. The story of Lestat is 26 parts long, it’s going to take a while to read them but if you read the last six or seven you’ll get the jest of what my blogged started out as.

Congratulations not only on the well-deserved award but making it through a whole year of blogging. The first year is always the hardest, but forget I said that–next year I’ll say the second year is always the hardest, and you can probably guess what I’ll say when you reach year three.
